Hell, my primary screen is a 2013 AMVA and I have zero complaint - IPS panels are even better in terms of pixel response. All modern panels are perfectly fine for gaming, TN, IPS or VA. I've been on 85 for a very long time, but only to prevent CRT related headaches. And I'm heavily into Quake and have been for more than 10 years now so take that as you will. I find high refresh rate to be a neat gimmick far from anything resembling true necessity. Personally, I'd take an IPS over a TN any time of the day, week, year or aeon. 120~144hz monitors are being advertised as "true gaming monitors" so neophyte gamers assume that they "need" a high refresh rate TN panel.
